BRITTANY MARCHES broke the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase April 19 during the first day of the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. A redshirt freshmen from Atascocita, Texas, Marches ran a 10:40.45 to break the school record by 13 seconds. Dawn Domaschk held the previous record when she clocked 10:53.18 in 2003.

Marches placed ninth as she competed in the event’s B section. She showed a knack for the steeplechase when she won the event at the Texas Relays — her first time ever competing in the event.

In the 10,000-meter run Olympic Development Elite division, senior Laleh Mojtabaeezamani ran a personal best of 35:02.02 for ninth overall. The competition marked the first time Mojtabaeezamani ran the event this outdoor season.
