AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas soccer team will face two Southeastern Conference opponents and one Big 12 rematch during its five-game spring schedule, which was released Thursday.

The slate starts with an exhibition home match at 4 p.m. Feb. 28 against the National Women's Soccer League's Houston Dash at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Texas fell to the Dash by a score of 1-0 when the two teams last met March 9, 2019. The two were scheduled to battle last March, but Covid-19 canceled the remainder of the spring slate for Texas.

Less than a week later, Texas State travels the short distance to Austin to face UT at 7 p.m. March 5. The Bobcats went 4-4 in Sun Belt Conference play this past fall.

The Horns, who finished the fall schedule with a 4-5 record, then will play at Baylor at 6 p.m. March 11 in a rematch of the final home match of the fall season, which Texas won, 1-0. Baylor went 3-3-3 in conference play during the fall, including a 0-0 draw against then-No. 4 Oklahoma State.

Texas then travels 11 days later to the Gulf coast to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. March 26. The Islanders struggled to get on the pitch this past fall, with four of their contests either postponed or canceled. They went 1-2-1 in the fall.

The spring concludes with the SEC duels April 9 at LSU and April 15 at home against Arkansas.

LSU mustered a measly 3-7-2 record in 2020. Arkansas, on the other hand, could be UT's toughest opponent, and will be the only team the Horns face that posted a record above .500 in the fall. The Razorbacks went 9-2 with victories over No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 10 South Carolina and No. 15 Auburn.
