With the fall sports seasons underway, here is our weekly preview of all the Longhorn sports set to be played in the week ahead.

Soccer: On the road against TCU

Looking at the matchup: The 0-1 Longhorns will try to earn their first win of the season in the squad’s first road showdown this fall. It will not be easy at the home of the Horned Frogs, who have a great defense. In the season opener at Baylor last Friday, TCU fought the Lady Bears to a 0-0 draw through two overtime periods. Texas was unable to find the back of the net in the season opening 1-0 loss to Kansas last week, although Julia Grosso and MacKenzie McFarland each had two shots on goal.

Football: Bye Week

The football team will have a week to catch its breath following a fast-paced, 59-3 rout of UTEP last Saturday night. Head coach Tom Herman said Monday that he views this bye week as an “extension of training camp” and that the Horns will begin preparing for next Saturday’s road contest against Texas Tech later this week.
