THE WOODLANDS, Texas — The No. 16 Texas women's golf team shot a 10-under-par 854 to finish fifth in the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship at the 6,314-yard, par-72 Tom Fazio Championship Course at The Club of Carlton Woods.

Oklahoma State led for the entirety of the three-day event and captured its 10th conference title, finishing at 34-under. Texas Tech placed second at 18-under, and Baylor was one stroke behind at 17-under. Oklahoma came in fourth at 16-under.

Agathe Laisne led the Longhorns for much of the tournament, finishing at 8-under 208 in a tie for fourth place with Oklahoma's Hannah Screen. Laisne tallied a 72 Sunday, before posting back-to-back rounds of 68 Monday and Tuesday. She played especially well on the back nine Tuesday, recording five birdies in the final round.

Kaitlyn Papp was also a key cog in UT's performance, tying Oklahoma State's Isabella Fierro at 209 for sixth and lowered her score with each round, shooting 71 Sunday, 70 Monday and 68 in Tuesday's final round. She recorded pars on each of the first nine holes Tuesday, before finishing with four birdies on the back nine.

Sara Kouskova, who finished tied for 12th with a three-under 213, led not just Texas, but all players in the tournament with 42 pars.

The Longhorns now will mark their calendars for April 28, when the NCAA is set to release its at-large bids for the NCAA Regional Championships. The selection show will be televised at 1 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
