Woke up early…it’s GAMEDAY. This is the very best time to be in Texas for football. The temperature will be close to 70 degrees at kickoff and warm up to 75 toward the end of the game.
Where are you watching the game today?
Like all games, this one will be a defining moment for Texas Longhorns Football. The race to the Big 12 Championship is heating up with five teams fighting for supremacy. A win for Texas keeps the Longhorns tied for first place in the Big 12 with the winner of the Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State game, and Iowa State if they beat Kansas.
Today will be an exciting day in college football. Maalik Murphy gets to gain more confidence as the starting quarterback. Murphy will throw about 30 passes. We will be looking for Jordan Whittington to get a few of those passes especially in the red zone. Look for Adonai Mitchell and Gunnar Helm to be big impact players.
Looking forward to Ja’Tavion Sanders to make trouble for the Kansas State secondary with his ability to take a pass for extra yards.
Scoring in the red zone, this has been an area Texas has struggled with since Oklahoma. This is a factor with four games left in the regular season. Texas has to score more than three points every time they get into the red zone.
Thank God for Bert Auburn who ranks 17th in the nation in scoring with 72 points on the season.

Kansas State should make it easier for Texas as their red zone defense is ranked tied for 45th place in the rankings, and the good news is Texas red zone defense is tied for sixth place. However, they have us on the flip side.
Kansas State does not struggle scoring ‘touchdowns’ in the red zone like Texas.
T’Vondre Sweat, Jaylon Ford, Michael Taaffe, Jahdae Barron, Jarrin Thompson will have their work cut out for them today.
Texas will earn this win in all phases of the game.
Will Arch Manning play? If, and only if, the game is well under control for Texas and the score is out of reach for Kansas State to win. We may see Manning in the middle of the fourth quarter, if at all today.
There will be a price to pay from fans if Manning does not play and the talk of Manning transferring will become a bigger topic of discussion on social media.
If you are not in the stands at DKR, you will get to hear Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft call the game on FOX.
Kickoff 11 AM.
