This year marks the Longhorns’ 27th NCAA Tournament appearance, their fifth in the past six seasons. The Longhorns missed going to the tournament last season. Since the NCAA Women’s Championship began in 1983, Texas has been selected in all but four seasons. The last time Texas won a tournament game was against No. 9 seed Minnesota in 2008.
With a win in the first round against Pennsylvania, Texas would then face either No. 4 seed Maryland or No. 13 seed Army in the second round on March 25th. Maryland and Army will face off in the first round on Sunday, March 23 at 11:30 am central.
The game between Texas and Pennsylvania will be broadcast on ESPN.
