game-winning goal for the second straight contest for the Longhorns. She scored at 8:40 on the first shot of the match. Freshman goalkeeper Abby Smith also posted her second-straight shutout, blanking two initial two league foes for the first time since 2002.

After the squads battled for possession for the first eight minutes of the game, officials awarded Texas a corner kick. Junior Gabby Zarnegar served the ball toward the goal and Lachappelle headed it home for her second score of the season.

Oklahoma’s Renae Cuellar had the best chance to score in the 75th minute on consecutive corner kicks but Texas cleared aside both corners.
