of the 2013 class in November. As a senior outside linebacker and safety, Hughes was named an honorable mention 5A All-State by the Associated Press.

A three year starter in high school, Hughes also played wide receiver, tight end, running back and quarterback earlier in his prep career. The Semper-Fi All-American comes to Texas as an outside linebacker prospect with the frame to carry more than 230 pounds and the ability to play in space. He selected Texas over South Carolina, Baylor and LSU.
