Texas Women’s Basketball ranked No. 12 in The Associated Press preseason poll

AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas women’s basketball team is ranked No. 12 in The Associated Press preseason poll announced Tuesday. In the 39 seasons that The AP has conducted polling for women’s basketball, the Longhorns have been ranked 31 times in The AP preseason Top 25.

The Longhorns are one of three Big 12 Conference teams selected in The AP preseason Top 25. Baylor is ranked No. 5, while Oklahoma is No. 17. UT also will face three opponents in its non-conference schedule who are ranked in the preseason poll – Tennessee (No. 4), Mississippi State (No. 11) and Stanford (No. 16).

Texas tips off the 2015-16 regular season with a home contest against UTSA on Saturday, Nov. 14. Tip is set for 7 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center, and the game will be televised nationally by Longhorn Network.
