IRVING, Texas—After shutting out then-No. 23 LSU for six innings on Sunday on the road at Alex Box Stadium, sophomore right-handed pitcher Blair Henley was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today.

With Texas needing a win to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Tigers, Henley came up big. The Fort Worth native kept LSU off the board for six innings. He scattered six hits and three walks while striking out three on the afternoon en route to his first win of 2018.

The weekly accolade is the first of Henley's career and the first Big 12 honor for a Longhorn this season.
