AUSTIN, Texas — Former University of Texas pitcher Huston Street will be inducted June 29 into the Omaha College Baseball Hall of Fame. Street and former Arizona State star Eddie Bane will be honored at the 10th Annual Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans College Home Run Derby during the live broadcast on ESPN2.

Street is the sixth [s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)]former UT player or coach to be inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame, joining former coaches Augie Garrido and Cliff Gustafson, as well as former players Brooks Kieschnick, Burt Hooton and Keith Moreland.

Street holds the record for the most career saves in the College World Series with five, and the single-season record with four. He was named the CWS Most Outstanding Player in 2002, when UT won the national championship, and helped lead the team back to the College World Series in 2003 and 2004.

In 10 career appearances over three trips to the College World Series, Street allowed just three earned runs in 16-2/3 innings, making his career CWS earned run average 1.62. He was among the players named to the College World Series Legends team in 2010.

Street finished his UT playing career as the school’s all-time record holder with 41 career saves, and with the second-best ERA in program history: 1.31. The three-time All-America was taken by the Oakland Athletics with the 40th selection in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft, and subsequently won the 2005 American League Rookie of the Year award. Over 13 seasons, he saved 324 games and was named to the All-Star Game twice.

Established in 2013, the Omaha College Baseball Hall of Fame honors the achievements of the players and coaches in the College World Series. Inductees are voted on by a panel of college baseball experts that includes former players, coaches and national college baseball media members.
