Whether college athletes should or should not be paid is among the biggest topics in sports. With Ed O’Bannon’s suit against the NCAA, the notion that college players should be paid for their efforts on the field has become a very hot topic.
The pay-for-play suit was a big part of the conversation at college football media days all over the country. One of the most vocal supporters of paying athletes to play was Coach Mack Brown. Brown is not the first coach from a major program to come out in support of a “pay-for-play” program. South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez, and Maryland coach Randy Edsall have also voiced their support for such a program.
What are your thoughts? Should college athletes be paid to play?
