Texas is going to take the chance to run a full spectrum of plays which means a lot of passing and a lot of running. Sarkisian has said a complete game is when Texas has about 500 yards of total offense, 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing.
Arch Manning will throw three or four touchdowns. He will make a couple of deep passes. One pass will be like the one he threw to Parker Livingstone in the end zone against Ohio State.
After Ohio State, Manning will be coming out more refined and prepared for what the defense presents. Manning likely looks at film completely differently looking at more details.
CJ Baxter, Quintrevion Wisner, and Ryan Wingo will be big contributors.
Expect Sarkisian to showcase Texas tight end Jack Endries again. Endries had a 30 yard pass against Ohio State. Remember how much Gunnar Helm was called upon last season. Texas has seven tight ends on the roster. There are four freshmen, two sophomores, and Endries is a junior.
On defense, Texas will stop San Jose State from running and passing. San Jose State is known for their passing game. However, Texas’ secondary (Taaffe, Muhammand, McDonald, Guilbeau) will contain it. Meanwhile, Anthony Hill Jr. and crew (Colin Simmons, Koona Lefau, and Trey Moore) apply massive pressure.
The score will be something like 38-7, or potentially 44-10
Horns Illustrated will be in the press box. Our photographer, Don Bender, will capture the action from field level.
