College GameDay Predictions: Big 12 Champion, Heisman Winner, National Champion
Are you ready Horns' fans? The return of Texas Football is less than a week away. I am sure that you all know what the staff at Horns Illustrated expects out of this Texas football team (big things), so lets take a look at what the other experts have said...
On Saturday, ESPN's College GameDay crew made their conference and Heisman predictions for the 2013 season.
Sticking with the theme of the Big 12 this year, there was no consensus among the crew on who would be the conference champion.
Lee Corso selected Texas. Desmond Howard selected Oklahoma. Kirk Herbstreit selected Oklahoma State.
Big 12 Champion:
Corso – Texas
Desmond – Oklahoma
Kirk – Oklahoma State— College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) August 24, 2013
This team from ESPN also could not agree on an Heisman Trophy winner. Only Corso picked Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel to become the second player ever to win two. Howard opted for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, while Herbstreit predicted that Teddie Bridgewater would walk away with the coveted trophy.
Heisman Trophy Winner:
Desmond - Marcus Mariota (Oregon)
Corso – Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M)
Kirk – Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville)— College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) August 24, 2013
As for National Champion, they were able to agree on a few teams with Desmond and Corso picking Stanford to reach the big game and Corso and Kirk agreeing on Alabama. However, you will see that each of them has their own unique take.
National Champion:
Desmond - LSU over Stanford
Corso - Stanford over Alabama
Kirk - Alabama over Ohio State— College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) August 24, 2013
