The lingering questions from last season remain unanswered as the Texas football team returns to the weight room in preparation for the season opener against Wyoming Sept. 1. The annual Orange-White football game revealed little to the 46,000 spectators that looked on from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium as “Texas” beat the “Horns” 35-28. After completing 15 spring workouts, the 2012 Longhorns received the opportunity to impress the coaches one final time before changing back to individual workouts.

The game — which took place April 1— displayed basic football and vanilla schemes.

“The spring game was basic … we didn’t show anything,” senior safety Kenny Vaccaro said. “I saw guys playing football, flying to the ball, hustling and working hard. We’re trying to build depth and make sure the young guys are game-ready. We need a deep team if we want to have success this year.”
