Seconds after he answered the media’s final question, head coach Charlie Strong put his head down, closed his eyes and released a deep breath, the air whistling as it left his lungs.
That whistle resembles the same sound of the deflating balloon that has come to signify Texas’ latest season of discontent. In the wake of Texas’ 50-7 thrashing at the hands of third-rated TCU, the Longhorns face a campaign wracked by four losses in the first five games for the first time since 1956.
