Ricky Williams to Join Coaching Staff at University of the Incarnate Word

Ricky Williams

What is Ricky Williams doing this summer (besides teaching yoga)? Well, he  is joining the coaching staff at University of the Incarnate Word, in a move  first reported by CoachingSearch.com said he will work with running backs on his days off while he still lives in Austin.

University of the Incarnate Word probably doesn’t see too many former NFL stars and Heisman Trophy winners pass through.

UIW, in San Antonio, is making the transition from Division II to the Football Championship Subdivision this year. The Cardinals’ played their first game in 2009, and they play in a 6000 seat stadium  that is named after New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and his wife Gayle. The Cardinals have yet to post a winning season. Maybe adding this Longhorns legend as a coach can help them get over the hump.

While most Heisman Trophy winners would be content to live their days as a celebrity, it seems that Williams has caught the coaching bug. We say … BEST OF LUCK, Ricky!

Here is a look at Ricky’s 1998 Season
