BALTIMORE, Md. — Former Texas kicker Justin Tucker is one of the NFL’s best. His employers, the Baltimore Ravens, showed this week that they agreed with that assessment when they signed him to a four-year contract worth $16.8 million.

The deal reportedly included [s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)]a $6 million signing bonus, and the total of $10.8 million is the most ever guaranteed to a kicker in NFL history.

His average salary of $4.2 million per season will be the second-highest ever for a kicker; New England’s Stephen Goskowski, who’s contract pays him an average of $4.3 million.

Through four years, Tucker has connected on 130 of 148 career field goal attempts (87.84 percent), including 78 of 79 from within 40 yards, and he has successfully converted every extra point he has attempted in his professional career. Tucker’s field goal percentage is the second-best in NFL history, trailing only the 90.57 accuracy rate of Dallas kicker Dan Bailey.
