FORMER LONGHORN running back Ricky Williams was amongst the athletes inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Feb. 18 in Waco. Williams played 11 years in the NFL where he spent time with three different teams and accounted for 10,009 yards on the ground and 66 rushing touchdowns.

watching Williams ripping on the gridiron on his way to setting the then all-time NCAA rushing record with 6279 yards. The Heisman Trophy winner racked up 2327 yards, 29 touchdowns and averaged six yards per carry during his senior year. Joining Williams in the 2013 Texas Sports Hall of Fame class was fellow Longhorn and softball star Cat Osterman, as well as current New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees, and some guy who played high school basketball in San Antonio named Shaquille O’Neal.
