Arizona linebacker Jordan Hicks’ monster game against Carolina highlighted a rather quiet week for former Longhorn players currently playing professionally.
Hicks, who is in his sixth year in the NFL but first with the Cardinals after spending the first five in Philadelphia, made 12 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss, as Arizona suffered a 31-21 loss to the Panthers.
Offensively, Los Angeles Rams running back Malcolm Brown had nine carries for 37 yards against the Giants to mark the most notable Texas alumnus skill player.
Baltimore Ravens rookie wideout Devin Duvernay had one catch for 4 yards vs. Washington, while his teammate, kicker Justin Tucker, made a 46-yard field goal and all four of his extra-point attempts during Baltimore’s 31-17 win.
Cowboys offensive tackle Connor Williams played every single snap to help Dallas compile 566 yards in a 49-38 loss against the Browns.
Defensively, plenty of former Longhorns joined Hicks in making plays.
Seattle safety Quandre Diggs made four tackles against Miami, with Dophins safety Brandon Jones recording one stop against the Seahawks offense. Diggs’ teammate, Poona Ford, had one tackle, while Seahawks punter Michael Dickson only kicked twice during the game, but one was a 58-yarder and the other pinned Miami inside its own 20.
The third former Longhorn on the Ravens, safety DeShon Elliott, finished with three tackles and one pass defended against Washington.
Philadelphia’s Hassan Ridgeway had a sack against the 49ers, Saints defensive tackle Malcom Brown made one stop against Detroit, Houston defensive end Charles Omenihu recorded two quarterback hits against Minnesota, and Vikings defensive back Holton Hill had three tackles and one pass defended against the Texans.
Rounding things out on Monday night, Patriots defensive back Adrian Phillips had two tackles, including one for loss, against the Chiefs, while Kansas City defensive end Alex Okafor came up with two stops against New England.
