UPDATE as of 11/9/2023 at 12:40PM
Coach Sarkisian announced today during his Thursday press conference that Quinn Ewers would be starting against TCU. Sarkisian commented on Ewers saying that Ewers is focused, highly competitive, excited about the opportunity, loves his teammates, has kept his poise, and not overly emotional.

In Steve Sarkisian’s weekly press conference on Monday, the question was asked how Quinn Ewers was doing from his injury. Sarkisian responded without giving an exact prognosis, however Sarkisian did say that Ewers is now day-to-day instead of week-to-week.
Sarkisian is a master chess player always thinking 3-5 moves ahead and of course setting up the current play to stage the next. Our prediction would be that Quinn Ewers will start against TCU. Last year after Ewers got hurt against Alabama, Sarkisian waited until the morning of the Red River Rivalry to announce Ewers would be starting.
Waiting until the last minute forces TCU to have to prepare for both Maalik Murphy and Quinn Ewers, and they should thinking about Arch Manning while they are at it.
It would not be a surprise if Ewers started and played all three quarters, depending on the score. If Texas is blowing out TCU, then Murphy will start the fourth and Manning potentially could finish off the game. Of course, we are trying to read coach Sarkisian’s mind and ultimately only he and his staff know the game plan.
Here’s the deal about Arch Manning. When ever Sarkisian is talking about Maalik Murphy he always includes Manning – always. All the talk about Arch Manning transferring is just folks having a slow sports news day.
TCU will not be an easy game. This is their last chance and they will be bringing everything they have.
