Marquise Goodwin Earns Big 12 Track & Field Athlete Of The Week Award

Marquise Goodwin has been tabbed the Big 12 Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the 118th annual Penn Relays last week.

Goodwin captured his second-straight Penn Relays long jump title Friday. The junior's leap of 25-9.5 feet earned him his third long jump crown on the season in as many meets. His mark ranks third in the Big 12 and is the fifth-best jump in the NCAA.

The Garland, Texas native also ran the second leg of the 4x100-meter relay, which placed fourth in a time of 40.69.

Goodwin is the second Longhorn to garner an outdoor honor this season after Isaac Murphy earned the distinction April 4. It is his first outdoor career honor.

The Texas Men's Track & Field team is set to compete in the Big 12 Outdoor Championships taking place in Manhattan, Kan. on May 11-13.
