14 National Championship teams and 31 conference championship teams. During his tenure in Austin, Brown coached 28 All-Americans, 18 U.S. National Team
members and five Olympians. His Texas divers captured a total of seven NCAA individual titles and 26 conference individual championships.
When his women’s team won the AIAW championship in 1981, it marked the first women’s national title in any sport for Texas. “When we came back, the school lit the tower orange, but there wasn’t a number one,” Brown said. “So the men’s team got into the building and started turning on lights, making a scattered number one.”
Brown and his wife, Anita Rossing coach the men’s and women’s
diving teams at the University of Hawai’i.
Under Brown and Rossing, Hawai’i divers have earned 28 NCAA All-America honors and two NCAA individual titles. The two live in Honolulu with their daughter,
Rika Rossing. When they’re not on the pool deck, one of their favorite
things to do is swim with wild dolphins in the Pacific Ocean.
