No. 4 volleyball takes down No. 14 USC in three sets

AUSTIN, Texas — Sophomore outside hitter Logan Eggleston led all players with 16 kills and added two blocks, five digs and a career-high five service aces to lead the No. 4 Texas volleyball team to a 3-1; 23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 win over No. 14 USC Sunday in Gregory Gym.

The victory was [s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)]the second in as many matches for the Longhorns.

Freshman hit .435, with 14 kills and three blocks, while senior Micaya White added 12 kills and eight digs.

Sophomore setter Jhenna Gabriel quarterbacked the Texas offense, hitting .304 while handing out 35 assists; she also had eight digs.

Sophomore Sydney Petersen paced the UT defense with 10 digs, matching the combined total from seniors Autumn Rounsaville (six) and Claire Hahn (four).

The Longhorns return to action Wednesday, Sept. 4 with a 7 p.m. home match against No. 3 Minnesota.
