Arch Manning will be relieved now that Parker Livingstone is in the spotlight and for very good reason.
During the post-game press conference after the San Jose State 38-7 win, Steve Sarkisian said , “I have been saying it all along. I just don’t know if you guys believe me. I have been saying it since spring ball. Parker Livingstone is a really good player.”
The Texas redshirt freshman wide receiver No. 13 Livingstone, hometown Lucas Texas, a small town 19 minutes northeast from Plano Texas, was named SEC Freshman of the Week. A first for Livingstone and well deserved. The next day, Livingstone was selected for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week award.
During the San Jose State game, Livingstone chalked up 128 yards receiving on four of the five passes sent spiraled in by Manning. Two of those catches resulted in touchdowns in under four minutes of each other.
Against Ohio State, Livingstone scored Texas’ lone touchdown on a 32 yard pass from Manning and caught another to tally 47 total yards.
“He obviously has a good rapport and good trust from Arch, and he makes plays. When the ball comes his way, he makes his plays,” Sarkisian said of Livingstone.
Livingstone is no stranger to the end zone.
Scoring is what Livingstone does. During Livingstone’s high school career, he scored 31 touchdowns on 115 receptions and 2,207 yards.

Livingstone was recruited by Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Utah, and Texas.
Livingstone’s high school football coach Chris Ross said this just after Parker committed to Texas according to Dave Campbell Texas Football article by Greg Powers, “Obviously, you got a guy who is 6’4”, 190 and can run the way he runs, but the thing that really stands out to me about Parker is that he is such a competitor.”
“The bigger the game. The harder Parker is going to play. That competitiveness and that drive makes our team better.”
Livingstone said before arriving at Texas, “My ultimate dream is to make it to the NFL.”
