One win down, nine more wins to capture the College World Series. Though winning 10 games in a row is extremely rare, that’s the least number of games that could be played.
For the first game of the NCAA D1 Baseball Regionals, Texas bats had fire on them in the fifth inning scoring five runs. It was the 10th time this season, Texas batted around the lineup.
Seven Texas players got a hit and six crossed the plat. Jonah Williams crossed twice.
Texas’ fifth inning put the game out of reach for Houston Christian. Kimble Schuessler had two RBI’s, Jonah Williams scored twice, Will Gasparino came alive with a double that scored a run.
Three pitches for Texas. Ethan Walker started with Grayson Saunier getting the win and Hudson Hamilton the save.
Saunier threw 57 pitches with 70% strikes (40). Hamilton struck out four batters.
Next up is the winner between UTSA and Kansas State and will be at 8pm Saturday.
Texas goes to 43-12 overall.
