AUSTIN, Texas — A new era of Texas Longhorns Football has started and the team opened practice to fans at DKR Wednesday evening. Before practice head coach Steve Sarkisian's coordinators met with the media and fielded questions that provided a glimpse into the new era.

Steve Sarkisian after taking the head coaching position at Texas assembled a cohesive staff of football coaching juggernauts.

Defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski (pronounced: quit-COW-ski) known and respected for building unstoppable defenses and players, offensive coordinator Kyle Flood last year built an offensive line that was given the Joe Moore Award as the nation's top offensive unit, and special teams coordinator Jeff Banks’ special teams at Alabama ranked ninth nationally in punt returns.

Listen to coaches share fine details about players and how summer sessions are progressing with just three weeks until Texas plays Louisiana on Sept 3 at DKR. Listen carefully to hear what is most revealing why each coach decided to come and coach at Texas.

This is the new era of football at Texas. It is the Steve Sarkisian era!

I like exploring the why's and have three objectives. First is to give value to those who would spend time with our content. Second is to be respectful of others and for the opportunity to tell a positive story about all of the Texas Longhorns teams, players, and coaches regardless of their record. Lastly, to put wind in the sails of others using the Horns Illustrated platform. Life is GOOD!
