Quinn Ewers managed the Longhorns to one of their most complete games of the season. Texas had an incredible 562 yards of total offense while the defense held Florida to 329 yards.
Ewers passed for 333 yards with five touchdowns (one less than UT’s school record) and NO interceptions. The win is, of course, the big story of the game. However, the way Ewers handled and managed the offense is also worth noting. He gave an opportunity to 16 players to contribute to the offensive charge for Texas.
Ten(10) receivers contributed for 352 yards and six players rushed for 210 yards. Those 10 receivers put up an impressive 277 yards-after-catch (YAC).
Think about it. Of the 19 completions for Ewers, 10 of those were behind the line of scrimmage that resulted in 155 yards. Four of his passes were midrange (less than 15 yards down field) that tallied 74 yards, and he connected deep four times that put up 100 yards.
The biggest was the one to Quintrevion Wisner in the second half. It was first and 10 on the 50 yard line, Ewers drops back five yards, puts the ball in the hands of Wisner at the Texas 45 yard, and Wisner does what Wisner does best. He ran and found the end-zone for a touchdown.
Matthew Golden scored two touchdowns, Jerrick Gibson rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries. Here’s his 100th yard.

Quintrevion Wisner, Isaiah Bond, and Gunnar Helm all had a receiving touchdowns.
Junior #23 Jaydon Blue led in receiving with 67 yards on 3 catches. Senior #11 Silas Bolden (2/33), sophomore #0 DeAndre Moore Jr. (2/22), freshman #5 Ryan Wingo (1/4), senior #81 Juan Davis (1/4), and junior #8 Amari Niblack (1/2) all contributed and accounted for an outstanding day of Texas passing football.
The 13 drives Texas ran averaged 41 yards per drive with seven resulting in a score.
Texas’ offense was highly efficient. The seven touchdowns took just 7:19 minutes to complete in total and 25 plays covering 388 yards.

The Texas defense was their usual wrecking ball. Of the 71 tackles, just about half (35) were solo tackles. Of the 26 defensive players who tallied stats, 15 were nonstarters. This gives Texas an advantage for late in the season when starters may be injured or need a break.
Jaylon Guilbeau surprised the Florida QB for a sack. Ty’Anthony Smith and Andrew Mukuba both had interceptions.
Once again, sophomore linebacker #0 Anthony Hill Jr. led the team in tackles with seven, two of which were solo.
Alfred Collins deflected the ball twice. On one of them the ball was intercepted by Ty’Anthony Smith.
Interestingly, Barryn Sorrell was a bit silent with just one tackle, but he also had a key quarterback hurry which is always a great thing.
The win and the way the team executed was needed going into Arkansas next week. The Razorbacks are 5-4 overall, but undefeated (3-3) in SEC Conference play. The last time Texas played Arkansas was at home and they crushed Texas. Arkansas fans do not like Texas AT ALL!
