It was awesome to watch Texas be efficient, No. 17 Texas (8-3, 5-2 SEC) overwhelmed Arkansas 52-37 on Saturday afternoon at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, improving to 5-0 at home this season and extending their home winning streak to eight. The Longhorns racked up 490 total yards, scoring on their opening drive for the fourth time in 2025 (now 4-0 in those games), while their defense forced two turnovers to seal the victory.
Sophomore quarterback Arch Manning authored an historic performances, completing 18-of-30 passes for a career-high 389 yards and four touchdowns—his fifth game with three-plus passing scores this season. But Manning’s magic didn’t stop there: he added a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and hauled in a 4-yard receiving score on a clever Philly Special trick play in the first, becoming just the second SEC player this century (joining South Carolina’s Connor Shaw in 2014) with a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same game. Manning’s six total touchdowns fell one shy of Clyde Littlefield’s 1915 school record, propelling Texas to their highest-scoring SEC game (52 points) since joining the conference.
Wide receiver Parker Livingstone was Manning’s top target, snagging two catches for 104 yards—including a 54-yard bomb—and tossing the trick-play touchdown to his roommate Manning. The freshman’s versatility made him the first SEC player with six receiving TDs and a passing TD in a season since Deebo Samuel in 2018. Sophomore wideout Ryan Wingo complemented the air attack with six receptions for 81 yards, including a 18-yard wheel route and a 12-yard screen that sparked key drives.
Tight end Jack Endries, who Manning said had been working extremely hard in practice, contributed a crucial 30-plus-yard grab early in the second half, helping set up Manning’s rushing score and stretching the Arkansas secondary.
On defense, freshman EDGE Colin Simmons terrorized the Razorbacks, logging five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack (his third straight game with one), four QB pressures, and a forced fumble that linebacker Liona Lefau (see field-level photos in gallary from Don Bender) returned 52 yards for a pick-six in the fourth—Texas’ first defensive touchdown of the year.

Junior RB Quintrevion Wisner powered Texas’ ground game in the 52-37 win over Arkansas, rushing 15 times for 67 yards—his best since arriving on campus. Averaging 4.5 yards per carry, Wisner grinded out key short-yardage gains, including a 12-yard burst that sparked a second-quarter scoring drive. His 26 yards in the third quarter helped control the clock, contributing to 147 team rushing yards.
Kicker Mason Shipley added a 44-yard field goal to close the first half, going 16-for-20 on the season. Despite Arkansas’ 512 yards and late garbage-time scores, Texas’ 28-17 second-half edge clinched their fifth win in six SEC games. With the series lead now 58-23 over the Razorbacks, the Longhorns eye a potential playoff push.
Next up is the game of the season with an undefeated Texas A&M the day after Thanksgiving. If Texas has a playoff chance, it comes from beating Texas A&M in dominate fashion.
The chances are razor thin, but Texas has a chance to extend their football into December.
