AUSTIN Texas — Just three days before Christmas, Texas Longhorns signed their 28th player Ryan Watts, a 6’3” 205 lb cornerback transfer from Ohio State, to the 2022 class. Watts’ hometown is Little Elm, Texas.

Interestingly, Texas now has two cornerbacks from Little Elm,Texas and Little Elm HS that are newcomers for 2022. Terrance Brooks is an early signee and will participate in spring drills. Watts will enroll in Texas in Jan. as a junior and have three years eligibility because of the NCAA’s allowance for another year due to COVID.

Between the Big 12 and SEC, Texas has the largest 2022 signee class with 28 and ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 and No. 4 in all of college. There are 20 of the 28 (71%) signees who are from Texas.
