Texas Golf: Four Longhorns Set to Compete at 2015 U.S. Open
Jordan Spieth, Cody Gribble, Brad Elder and current golfer Beau Hossler (sophomore) will all compete at the 2015 U.S. Open, taking place Monday, June 15 through Sunday, June 21 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash.

-becomes one of a small number of golfers in history to qualify for three U.S. Opens before the age of 21. A few of them:
-Jordan Spieth – qualified for the U.S. Open at age 18 and has qualified every year since.
-Jack Nicklaus – qualified for the U.S. Open at age 17 and qualified for 44-consecutive years
-Bob Jones – qualified for the U.S. Open at 18 in 1920 and played in each subsequent Open until he retired in 1930
-John J. McDermott – qualified in 1909, 1910 and won the championship at age 19 in 1911 and again at 20 in 1912.
-Bobby Clampett – qualified at 18 in 1978 and followed in 1979 and 1980.
-Willie Anderson – played in the championship proper at 17 in 1897 and each year after that before turning 21…won his first U.S. Open in 1901.
-Gene Sarazen – qualified at 18 in 1920, 1921 and won in 1922.
-qualified by shooting 65 at Newport Beach Country Club and 71 at Big Canyon Country Club in the Newport Beach, Calif. sectional qualifier
-briefly held the outright lead in the second round of the 2012 U.S. Open at The Olympic Club, where he eventually finished T-29.

-finished T-17 at 2014 U.S. Open (his best Open finish)
Cody Gribble
-posted a pair of 3-under-par 67s at Northwood Club (Dallas) to qualify for his second U.S. Open
-made five to 10 cuts on the Web.com Tour in 2015, including a T-9 at United Leasing Championship
-has made two of three cuts on the PGA Tour, with all three starts coming in Texas events
-finished T-21 at 2014 U.S. Open
Brad Elder
-qualified for his third U.S. Open and first in 12 years through the Memphis, Tenn. Sectional
-shot the lowest round at the Memphis site with a first-round 63 at Ridgeway Country Club and followed with a 70 at Germantown Country Club to share medalist honors
-played the 2000 and 2003 U.S. Opens at Pebble Beach and Olympia Fields
-all three of his professional wins have come on the Nationwide (Web.com) Tour, the last coming in 2007.
