Matthew Merrick

The Texas Longhorns Football 2016 recruiting class is all-but-confirmed to have two QBs joining the 40-Acres come National Signing Day with recent reports stating that Matthew Merrick will remain true to his original commitment and will take the Longhorns’ greyshirt offer.

This means that Merrick will join the team’s 2016 recruiting class and will be ready for spring practices as he will already be on campus.

Merrick had received a number of scholarship offers from other teams but he decided that his heart lies with the Longhorns and will be joining Shane Buechele in the 40-Acres next year.

Buechele, a 4-Star rated QB prospect, recently announced his commitment to the Longhorns as well as stating his intention to enroll with the program early.
