
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Longhorns wins 35-6 over BYU as the Texas defense kept BYU from scoring a touchdown. In Maalik Murphy’s first quarterback start of the his college career, Murphy threw 25 passes where 16 connected for 170 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Both touchdown throws found their way to Adonai Mitchell who carried the ball three times for 59 yards.
Jonathon Brooks continued his dominance on the field with 16 carries for 99 yards and four receptions for 40-yards, and a touchdowns. Texas fourth touchdown of the game came on a 34-yard run from Jaydon Blue late in the fourth quarter.
Texas seemed to be off rythem all game, never finding a groove like we have seen in the first five games of the season. Yes, Texas put up 354 of total offense (170 passing, 184 rushing), but it was not smooth like they normally are. Texas also had six penalties

Texas goes 7-1 for the season and 4-1 in Big 12 Conference play. Oklahoma lost today to Kansas which gives Texas and OU a tie in the Big 12 and setting up a potential massive game in Arlington, Texas.
Texas plays Kansas State next weekend Nov. 4 with the time yet to be announced.
