Texas has demonstrated that they have every bit the ability to beat Houston – if Dylan Disu, Max Abmas, Dillion Mitchell, Tyrese Hunter. and Chendall Weaver can score their season averages, maybe even a little more.

Collectively, Abmas (17.7), Disu (16.9), Hunter (11.3), Mitchell (11), Kadin Shedrick (8), Ithiel Horton (6.3), Weaver (5), and Brock Cunningham (4.3) collectively, if they all scored theiir average, would amount to 80 points.

This will be the 25th game of the season for Texas and No. 3 Houston. On the road in Big 12 Conference games, Texas is 3-2. Overall Texas is 16-8, 5-6 Big 12). This is a must win for Texas. Last season, Texas went 29-9.

Houston is ranked #2 in holding teams under 55 points. The last game against Houston held Texas to 72 points and forced 10 turnovers.

In our analysis of how the game will like go, Texas will play extremely aggressively and will be shooting from three-point ranges often from Abmas and Disu. Mitchell and Weaver will be driving the lanes and trying to penetrate into the paint. One of many strengths Houston is not allowing their opponents to penetrate into the paint and get a good shot.

Based on Texas resolve, their ability to stay in the fight until the game is over, and the skill level of Texas, we believe that Texas beats Houston on their home court by eight points.

Texas travels to Houston on Feb 17 (Sat) for a 12 noon tipoff.

On a historical note, in the Houston game, Max Abmas needs 14 points to enter in to an elite bracket of players who have scored 3,000 in their collegiate career. Abmas will be the 12 player in NCAA history to do so.
