Texas Soccer Travels to Hawaii for The Outrigger Resorts Shootout

The University of Texas women’s soccer team will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Outrigger Resorts Shootout from Aug. 22 through Aug. 25. The University of Hawaii will host the shootout at Waipl’o Stadium. Admission is free to the public.

The opening match on Aug. 22 the Texas Longhorns will face the Arizona State Sun Devils at midnight CT (7 p.m. in Hawaii). This season will mark ASU’s head coach, Kevin Boyd’s eighth season with the Sun Devils. Arizona State has six returning starters from last year’s season. The team finished with a 9-8-2 record, just short of making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in a five-year span.

On Aug. 24 the University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine and Arizona State will meet for the second time for the UH season opener. Seeking revenge against the Sun Devils after their win in 2003, there will seven returning starters from the 2013 season. The Rainbow Wahine ended last year’s season, 8-8-1.

Texas and University of Hawaii will play the final match on Aug. 25, meeting for the first time at 10 p.m. CT (5 p.m. in Hawaii). After last week’s 7-0 win against Incarnate Word in a dominating performance, the Texas Longhorns will have an advantage to win in the Outrigger Resorts Shootout.

Upon the team’s return to Austin, the Texas Longhorns will face the University of Arkansas Razorbacks on Fri. Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The game will be televised on the Longhorn Network.
