Uga: Texas falls to Georgia 35-10

I thought I was fairly confident Texas would beat Georgia by 20 points. Egg on my face.

Like two boxers dancing around the ring, trying to figure each other out, both teams stepped gingerly through each quarter. Texas had many opportunities to deliver massive blows but was repeatedly called for penalties—nine in total, seven in the first half alone—that sapped their momentum.

Texas seemed dejected after so many missed scores, when Georgia obliterated them in the fourth quarter, 21-0.

Sarkisian said post-game: ‘You know, that was a really good game until the fourth quarter… it was not a great game in the fourth quarter for us.” Also commented, “It is a frustrating loss. It’s frustrating because you feel like you are prepared to play, I really did.”

Michael Taaffe said he needs to look at himself first—what could he do better?—and so does everyone else. No need to point fingers.

Texas’ focus is now on its final two games: Arkansas next week, then an undefeated Texas A&M the day after Thanksgiving.
