Seems like just yesterday we were celebrating these athletes on the 40 acres. From basketball, volleyball, track and field, swimming, rowing, golf, soccer, and tennis, these athetes have given us some of the great moments in sports. Thank you!
Now, they go to the next level and will be representing 16 counties, 12 Longhorns sports across 30 events. There will be 30 Texas Longhorns current or former athletes and seven coaches participating at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This breaks a record with sending 30 athletes from The University of Texas. The previous record was 29 athletes sent to the 2020 Tokyo Games.
Two-time gold medalist Ryan Crouser will again participate in the shot put, and second-time Olympian Tara Davis-Woodhall will participate in the long jump for Team USA.
Men’s and Women’s Swimming also has 10 current and former athletes participating in The Games of which six will represent Team USA. Bob Bowman will work a Nation Team Coach for France.
Keven Durant is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and will play on Team USA. Chiaka Obgogu is a 2020 gold medalist and will play women’s indoor volleyball. Julia Grosso, a 2020 gold medalist will play soccer and represent Canada.
The world’s No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler will be in Paris representing Team USA along with recent Wimbledon qualifier Lulu Sun representing New Zealand.
The University of Texas has now 162 athletics that have participated in the Olympics with 156 medals (89 gold, 43 silver, 24 bronze)
