AUSTIN, Texas — For his contributions to the Texas men’s track and field team’s victory in the Texas Invitational over the weekend, junior sprinter AJ Bailey, Jr., has been named Big 12 Men’s Athlete of the Week.

Bailey won the 200-meter dash in 20.44 seconds, the third-fastest time in the nation this season. He also finished fifth in the 100-meter dash in 10.34.

Bailey also was a part of the Longhorns’ 4×400-meter relay team that ran a 39.22, finishing second behind LSU in the event.
