Volleyball Ranks Fourth In Final Polls

After posting a 25-5 record, winning the Big 12 Conference and notching its NCAA-best sixth-straight Regional final appearance, the Texas Volleyball team is ranked fourth in the final AVCA and Volleyball Magazine polls of 2011.

In the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Illinois, No. 3 USC and No. 5 Hawaii join Texas in the top five. Big 12 foes Iowa State and Kansas State finished eighth and 22nd, respectively.

The top five spots were the same in the Volleyball Magazine poll, with Iowa State again ranking eighth and Kansas State ranking 20th.

In 2012, Texas will return 10 letterwinners, including five starters from its Big 12 Championship squad.
