
IRVING, Texas — All-American outside hitter Bailey Webster has been tabbed the Big 12 Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 9-12),
[s2If current_user_can(access_s2member_level2)] the league office announced Monday afternoon. The weekly honor marks the third of the season for the Longhorns, as freshman Chiaka Ogbogu earned back-to-back rookie of the week accolades Sept. 30 and Oct. 7.
Webster led the league in kills (4.86) and points (5.07) last week as the Longhorns posted a 2-0 mark, defeating Texas Tech on Wednesday and Kansas on Saturday. The win over the Jayhawks gave UT a 5-0 Big 12 record and sole possession of first place in the league standings. Webster also hit a combined .455 over the two matches. Against the Red Raiders, the senior recorded 14 kills with just one error on 22 attempts for a .591 hitting percentage. On Saturday in Lawrence, she recorded 20 kills with only 3 errors for a .386 hitting mark.
No. 3 Texas resumes Big 12 Conference action Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. Central when it hosts Iowa State in the annual Volley for a Cure match.
