AUSTIN, Texas — Strength of schedule aided in the Texas women's basketball team's favor this week, as Vic Schaefer's squad moved up two spots to No. 23 in the Associated Press (AP) top 25 poll after taking down Louisiana Tech and narrowly falling to No. 10 Texas A&M.

The only other Big 12 team in the top 25 is No. 8 Baylor (2-1), which was upset Sunday by No. 13 Arkansas. Iowa State and West Virginia also received votes.

Texas never trailed Louisiana Tech, and hung with the Aggies until the final minutes. UT hosts Idaho (2-0) at 1 p.m. Wednesday in a game that can be seen on the Longhorn Network and Tennessee at 4 p.m. Sunday in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN.
