A Season to Remember – Game 1: Texas vs Texas State

Game 1 at DKR starts a season that could go down in the history books for college football and the University of Texas. 

Arch Manning leads the team into another tough SEC schedule.  This may, or may not be, Manning’s last season before going pro as he graduates in May 2027.

Today’s game against Texas State will be an introduction to a new Texas team with Manning at the helm, running backs Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown, plus Michael Terry III and Ryan Niblett, wide receivers leaping Cam Coleman, Emmett Mosley, and Ryan Wingo.

The new Muschamp defense should be something special with returning destine for the NFL Colin Simmons and Hero Kanu.  Justin Cryer, a smart NFL bound linebacker will be another force of nature.

For today’s game look for Sarkisian to dominate in the first-half and run a slew of pass and run plays that will be their bread and butter offense. Sarkisan will hold back a little and not run plays specifically designed for Ohio State.

Last season, Sarkisian commented that 3x Super Bowl champion defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s Ohio State’s defense schemed up on him as if they knew the play Sarkisian was calling. That will not happen again.

Texas State’s Brad Jackson is a dual threat QB and will challenge Texas’ linebackers and secondary.

Look for Texas to win by 20+, but this is simply a warm-up for next week.
