AUSTIN, Texas — Texas pitcher Ty Madden has been named a 2021 All-America by both Baseball America and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCWWA) June 17.

This makes Madden a three-time All-America; he was named to the second team after already being named to the Collegiate Baseball second team.

Madden has a 2.41 earned run average with a 7-4 record in 16 starts this season. He has struck out 119 batters in 100-2/3 innings pitched this season … so far. Madden went nine innings and struck out a season-best 14 March 5 in a 1-0 UT victory over Houston. In the NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals, he has pitched 12-2/3 innings and struck out 16.

Madden is the seventh Longhorn and first since Taylor Jungmann in 2011 to also be named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.
