Rowing Team on Lady Bird Lake
The Texas rowing team practices on Lady Bird Lake in Austin

Texas Rowing earned its fourth-consecutive Big 12 Conference title by just one point over Oklahoma April 28 — the closest margin of victory ever in the conference title. Rowing joined volleyball, women’s tennis and men’s swimming and diving as the fourth UT program to claim a Big 12 Conference championship for the 2011-12 athletic season. Victories by UT’s second varsity four, fourth varsity eight and second varsity eight highlighted the Longhorns’ day. The conference also announced the 2012 All-Big 12 Teams, with nine student-athletes selected to each squad. Juniors Brenna Coldren, Laurel McCaig, sophomore Hannah Moon and freshman Melanie Eckert earned positions on the All-Big 12 First Team.
