Batra Advances in Pre-Qualifying Draw at ITA All-American Championships

LOS ANGELES – University of Texas freshman Ratnika Batra scored a pair of singles victories and pulled within one win of the qualifying singles draw Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships, one of three national championship events on the college tennis calendar.

Batra opened play Saturday with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Erin Stephens of Ole Miss.  The New Delhi, India native followed with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over USC’s Kaitlyn Christian.  Batra will take on Texas Tech’s Nikki Sanders in Sunday’s pre-qualifying round of 16.
