Hoagland, who entered the game with 35 career round-trippers, broke Amy Hooks’ previous mark by hitting her 10th and 11th home runs of the season to go with four RBIs. Texas’ first four hits were home runs until Brejae Washington hit a single in the fifth inning. Courtney Craig and Karina Scott assisted Hoagland with hitting home runs — Scott led off the Texas second with a solo shot and Craig’s two-run homer started a seven-run fifth inning.
Nadia Taylor set a new school record for drawing five walks in a game, breaking Desiree Williams’ mark of four walks in 2009.
Texas also set a new record as a team by drawing 12 walks against the Kansas pitching staff.
