The intense grind continues for Texas Men’s Basketball as they host No. 4 Houston Feb 29 (Mon) at 8 P.M. at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas for yet another Big 12 Conference epic battle. This is the fourth game against a Top 25 opponent in the last 10 days that included: No. 9 Baylor, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 21 BYU, and now No. 4 Houston.

After Houston is TCU, though they are not unranked, like Texas, they just beat No. 15 Baylor in a triple overtime by just three points with both teams scoring over 100 points.

This game is such a big deal, it will be televised on ESPN with an 8 PM tipoff. It is the 65th time Texas and Houston have played, but the first time since the 2012-2013 season.

The good news is that Texas is 4-0 all-time at the Moody against Top 10 opponents, and 7-0 against Top 25 opponents at the Moody Center. It is extra challenging to beat Texas at Moody because of the Texas fans and it is VERY loud.

This will be the 21st game of the season. Overall Texas is 14-6 and 3-4 in Big 12 Conference play. No. 4 Houston is 18-2 overall and 5-2 in Big 12 Conference play.

Max Abmas (pronounced ACE-miss)will be looking to return to his usual scoring self as he ladders up the all-time scoring leader board. Currently, Abmas is the Top 15th scoring leader of all-time with 2,914 points. Abmas averages 20.4 points a game.

Look for Tyrese Hunter to continue his aggressive scoring for Texas. Hunter in the last game against BYU topped the 1,000 career point mark and now has 1,006 points in 92 collegiate games.

The newest player to add spark to the Texas defense and offense, Chendall Weaver has been on fire the last couple games averaging 13 ppg, with a season-high 15 points and five (all offensive) rebounds, plus two steals against BYU.

Tipoff at 8 PM at the Moody Center.
