Texas put up 381 yards of offense with Roschon Johnson from Port Neches, Texas where he was quarterback in high school, rushing for 179 yards on 31 carries and scoring a touchdown.

Coach Sarkisian commented in the postgame press conference that he wishes he had 100 Roschon Johnsons in the locker room.

Xavier Worthy pulled in 6 passes for 65 yards just missing a 1,000 yards regular season by only 19 yards. Cade Brewer scored a highlight reel type of touchdown in the corner of the end zone on a 10-yard pass from Casey Thompson. Jared Wiley grabbed 2 for 24 yards, Jordan Whittington also pulled down two for 18 yards, Marcus Washington caught one for 14 yards.

Casey Thompson threw 23 times and completed 17 for 170 yards, one interception early in the first quarter, and rushed three times for 11 yards. Thompson has had a torn ligament in his thumb most of the season, yet still tied 17th most passing touchdowns in college football with 24.

The Texas defense dominated giving up only 65 passing yards and 228 rushing stopping Kansas State at key moments to keep the momentum on Texas’ side. Linebacker 33 David Gbenda had the only sack and seven solo tackles. Texas recorded up 46 tackles. One key tackle for a 10 yard loss came from Jacoby Jones in the third quarter to keep the Texas momentum alive.
