The most well-known competitor with UT lineage is former Longhorn dual-sport star Marquise Goodwin. Perhaps better known as a member of the Texas track team when he was in Austin, Goodwin also parlayed his otherworldly athleticism into a starring role on the football team and eventually a job he currently holds with the Buffalo Bills.

Goodwin will be the first Longhorn to compete at this year’s Pan Am games when he takes part in the long jump.

Current UT runners Morolake Akinosun and Kendall Baisden will compete in sprints for Team USA. Akinosun will run the 100-meter dash and is in the pool of candidates for a spot on the 4×100-meter relay team, while Baisden will take part in the 400 meters.

The fourth Longhorn competing with Team USA is former UT distance specialist Kyle Merber, who will run the 1,500.

The events can be followed live at toronto2015.org. Schedules, starting lists and live results are available, along with other information, photos and videos. USA Track & Field also will be providing updates on Team USA on its Twitter handle @usatf. Updates on the Longhorns representing Team USA will be available on the UT track Twitter handle: @UTexasTrack.

In addition, six current and future Longhorns will be competing for Team USA in the Junior Pan Am Games, July 31-Aug. 2 in Edmonton, Alberta.
