Elish didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning as she tossed a two-hit shutout on the road at Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence, Kan. while striking out 10 Jayhawks — the eighth double-digit strikeout game she has had this season.
On the receiving end of the masterful pitching performance, catcher Mary Iakopo also starred in the batter’s box as she went 2-for-3 to help aid the Longhorns to the win. Iakopo is now 18-for-31 in the Longhorns last 11 games with 10 RBI.
Kaitlyn Washington had a two-run double in the fourth inning to give Elish (12-8) all the room she needed as Texas improved to 37-12 on the season, and 8-6 in Big 12 play.

MK Tedder went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Shannon Rhodes pitched in with a single and a run scored as well.
Remarkably, Texas has outscored its opponents 80-12 in the fourth inning of games this season, pushing across a staggering 30 percent of its runs during that frame.
Texas is back at it again today playing at Kansas at 2 p.m.
